What your assistant can do

Everything a connected assistant does in Orgtools runs as you: it sees what you can see, and anything it writes is created by you with the assistant named as the seat that drove it.

Log a decision

Say what you decided, why, and what you set aside. The assistant logs a decided room in Orgtools with you as the decider, and can seat a colleague by name or work email.

Find and read decisions

List the firm's decided decisions, or open one to read the question, the context, what was chosen, the rationale, and who decided it.

List governance signals

The findings Orgtools has raised from the firm's documents and data, with the decision each one implies. Available when your role can see the knowledge layer.

Not everything you say gets logged. Orgtools checks each candidate against one bar: a co-founder who has never opened the software could disagree with it, and it is about what the firm gets rather than how the work gets done. A decision that misses the bar is refused with a one-sentence reason, and when it can be restated in the firm's own terms the assistant offers that version for your approval instead of logging silently.

Connect

Every client signs in through the same Orgtools consent screen, which names the tool asking, your firm, and how the tool will show up in Orgtools. Pick yours.

The button opens Claude's Add custom connector dialog with Orgtools filled in. You review it and confirm; nothing is added until you do.

Connect to Claude

Confirm the connector. Without the button: Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector, and paste https://orgtools.com/mcp.
Claude sends you to Orgtools. Sign in if you are not already, read the consent screen, and click Allow.
In a chat, open the plus menu, choose Connectors, and turn Orgtools on. Connectors are per conversation.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector once under Organization settings, Connectors, and each member then clicks Connect under Customize, Connectors and signs in as themselves. Free accounts get one custom connector.

ChatGPT adds custom connectors through developer mode. Your workspace admin may need to turn it on for you.

Open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode.
Go to the Plugins page, press the plus button, name it Orgtools, and enter https://orgtools.com/mcp as the server URL.
ChatGPT sends you to Orgtools. Sign in, read the consent screen, and click Allow.
In a conversation, enable the Orgtools connector before you ask. Until it is on, ChatGPT answers from its own memory and never calls Orgtools.

Before ChatGPT writes anything, it shows a confirmation card with its own summary of the call. The exact arguments are behind See details. Reading them is worth the click the first few times.

One command adds the server; the login runs in your browser through the same consent screen.

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code, choose orgtools, and follow the browser sign-in. The seat it mints is named for you and for Claude Code, and appears on your Settings page.

The room is decided, with you as the decider and the assistant's seat recorded as the source.
The seat is named for you and the tool, ex: "Your name · Claude", and can be disconnected from your Settings page at any time.
Nobody is emailed about a decision they made themselves. A colleague you seat by name gets the usual notification.
